We may change our take-off site everyday according to wind speed and direction that we can view you the most charming valleys and hills of Cappadocia.
We have morning and evening scheduled flights, seven days a week all the year round. Each of our flight is custom tailored due to weather conditions of the day by our experienced pilots.
Sometimes flights have to be cancelled because of adverse weather conditions such as high winds speeds, poor visibility, low cloud or rain. Our pilots base their decisions on the latest forecasts from the office and local airports and they will always call flights on if it is possible to do so.
Actually you will be warmer in the balloon. Hot air balloons float with the wind so there is no wind chill. Generally in the morning as we climb the air actually gets warmer by a few degrees.

Balloons are completely dependant on the wind. In other words we do exactly what the wind does. As the sun heats the earth the air begins to boil just like a pot of water. Early morning air is best for your safety. The first hour of light in the morning is the safest time of the day.
We will go as far as the wind will take us. Remember balloons float with the wind. We have seen days where we flew for one hour and 15 minutes and went one mile! We have also seen days where we flew for 45 minutes and went 27 miles.
Very rarely. We usually land very calmly but if the wind picks up on landing there will be a bump and the basket will drag on the landing field untill it comes to a halt.
Children between 5 and 12 years old can fly with a responsible adult. However, younger children become a bit bored and uncomfortable due to having to stand for an hour in the same place and we can’t accept them.
Most balloonists enjoy low level flight. The typical balloon flight would be anywhere from tree level to about 900 meters (3000 feet) above the ground. For Cappadocia Balloon flights, it is not really necessary climbing to high altitudes. For a short time, its good to have panaromic view of Cappadocia then it might be boring. Also most of he time, there are strong air currents in higher altitudes to carry the balloon way far from the most significant areas.
Balloons are registered like any other aircraft and are subject to regular airworthiness checks. The CAA will not allow a balloon to be certified as airworthy unless these inspections and checks are done by authorized maintenance personnel and certified by them. All pilots are licensed by the CAA and have to pass regular flight checks.
An altimeter to indicate altitude, a variometer showing its rate of climb or decent, a compass to show directions, the fabric is at the top of the balloon. Each propane tank has a fuel gauge and the burner has a fuel pressure gauge.
The balloon is followed by a chase vehicle and the crew. They are in constant contact with the balloon pilot by radio and should be at the landing site at the same time as the balloon. Once the balloon is packed away (and the ceremonies are complete) the shuttle will take you back to your hotel.
